Frios Gourmet Pops South Boston

Owner Romin Patel

Tell us about your business — what do you do, and what inspired you to start it?
Frios Gourmet Pops is all about spreading joy — one handcrafted frozen pop at a time! We serve delicious, nostalgic, and unexpected flavors of pre-packed popsicles from our eye-catching tie-dye “Sweet Ride” truck, pushcart, or via pop drops.

We were inspired to bring Frios to the community because we believe treats should be fun, inclusive, and full of good vibes. Whether it's a school field day, a neighborhood event, or just a sunny afternoon, we wanted to create moments that make people smile — and we’ve been poppin’ ever since!

What sets your business apart from others in your industry?
Besides our deliciously unique flavors, we pride ourselves on being allergen-friendly (offering dairy-free, nut-free, gluten-free, and vegan options).

Our experience is also more than a frozen treat — it’s a vibe! From our bright tie-dye truck to our upbeat, community-first energy, we’re here to turn every event into a celebration.

Why did you choose to join the Chamber, and what do you hope to gain from your membership?
We joined the Chamber to connect with fellow small businesses and become more deeply rooted in the South Boston community. We’re excited to collaborate, learn, and support others while also sharing what we do. It’s all about growing together!

What’s one thing you love about doing business in South Boston?
The people! South Boston has such a strong sense of community, and we’ve felt incredibly welcomed from Day 1. There’s nothing better than showing up to an event and seeing familiar faces — or watching kids run up shouting, “It’s the popsicle truck!”

Can you share a fun fact or something people might not know about your business?
Our pops are made with love right here in the USA and come in over 40 rotating flavors — from classic strawberry mango to adventurous Blackberry Ginger lemonade. We even offer protein pops for athletes and schools!

Also, our tie-dye truck isn’t just cool to look at — it’s a mobile freezer full of happiness on wheels.

What has been your proudest moment or biggest achievement in your business so far?
Every smile is a win, but one highlight was being part of the filming of “Boston Blue” in Boston Common and serving a few crew members with our Cold Brew and Strawberry Mojito pops, which they absolutely love. Also, seeing people connect and celebrate around something so simple and sweet — that’s why we do what we do.

Are there any upcoming events, promotions, or new offerings you'd like people to know about?
Yes! We’re booking now for back-to-school events, fall festivals, and private parties. We also offer corporate catering and custom Pop Drops (pre-packed delivery of pops for meetings, thank-yous, and celebrations).

We are heading to the Summer Festival in Hyde Park, Hyde Park Open Street, Revere Art Festival, and of course South Boston Street Fest.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out?
Start small, stay consistent, and lead with passion. Celebrate every win (even the tiny ones), and don’t be afraid to ask for help or build community — it takes a village, and that’s what makes it all worthwhile!
